Simple Document Assembly (SDA2008.EXE)

is really what this page is about . This is a FREE programme that should be at the heart of every legal practice that prepares documents for clients. So long as your office is using Windows 95 and up to XP ( not tested with Vista) this small ( for these days ) programme will automate the production of finished documents from templates and data (Information ) files no matter what Windows word processor you use.

• Using just about any windows 95 and up word processing programme this executable can (within the limits of what might be called normal legal practice ) produce perfectly formatted final documents which will print directly from SDA or better still from your word processor

Latest News.

• The previous version 1.61 of the programme has been tested by Softpedia who have given it the all clear for spyware , malware etc. This version continues that tradition.
  
  
• The programme is now at version 1.62 (2008)and still free
• Export to HTML (for display in a Web browser) now works.
• Error trapping is somewhat enhanced.
• Help file has been revised.
• Tips of the day have been revised and enhanced.
• Page breaks work in a sort of fashion (but you can't see them except in Print preview mode)
• It is now possible to display carriage returns so as to assist in debugging a mal-functioning merge.
• And lastly, the facility to check author's web page( from within the program(me)) for updated version has been added.

  is not about SDA at all but the addition to my downloads page of OzPostCodes.exe which is a postcode picker with a difference. The difference being that it only puts the postcode in the windows clipboard for 10 seconds or so before restoring the previous contents of the clipboard. Just the thing for the busy office. Foenq is a progam(me) to display instantly from a total of 105,000 records the details of a mythical client plus the matters handled for him/her/them/it and details of deed/documents held or once held for that client.   About me

  I am now long retired from the law and embroiled in music and computers

  My involvment with computers started in 1980 with a Texas Instruments Programmable calculator and proceeded thence to first,Tandy computers and then, CPM machines running word processing and database applications.

  In 1984 I attaracted an unwarranted amount of publicity for being the first lawyer - in Victoria at any rate - to take the will preparation process to the home of the client producing the finished result there and then using a Tandy Model 100 computer , a single disk drive and a Daisy wheel printer .

  Since the early eighties I have been writing programmes and text handling macros

  Personal Interests

• Playing music, (clarinet, flute & tenor sax .. always looking for gigs.
• Serial grandparenting. There were 18 at last count
